I was told that if I had the surgery to remove the breast, I would be able to pass on chemo. And anyway, does standard orthodox medicine deliver any survival benefit if you are over 50 years of age?I am being told I have stage 2 and should have chemo first.I got a different opinion and now have decided to do surgery first.
What worked and what you wish you had done differently (surgery, treatments, doctors and surgeons).
After that time they take four capsules of either thalidomide or placebo once a day and remain on the drug until their prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level returns to what it was before beginning leuprolide or goserelin or to 5 nanograms per liter, whichever is lower.(PSA is a protein secreted by the prostate gland.
Monitoring changes in levels of this protein can help evaluate tumor progression).

I go for regular pelvic ultrasounds and they always show cysts that come and go. My gynecologist has strongly suggested I consider getting these ovaries removed prophylactically. My mother's aunt on one side of the family had breast cancer as well as her cousin on the other side of the family.
Of course I am concerned about ovarian cancer or a recurrence of the breast cancer, but I heard oophorectomy can lead to cardiac problems? So my family/genetic risk is not great however I do keep getting these cysts.
